Terri from Effra Hall found us while we were working on The Rosendale in Dulwich. She loved what we were doing there and wanted us to create a similar vibe in her Brixton pub, The Effra Hall.
The Effra has a long and colourful reputation in Brixton, one of the most well supported ‘locals’ in Brixton, with regular live music and sports. Terri wanted an interior an exterior that was durable, long lasting, could take a raucous crowd(!) and would look different from anything else in the area.
For the outside we sourced Big Slabs of Yew, blown down in 2007 2 miles from our workshop; we’ve been waiting to use these slabs for a long time! Along side some square edged oak and some tongue and groove banquette seating.
For the interior Terri wanted ‘cubes’ of wood to be used as stools and oak slabs as table tops for her existing sewing table bases.
